Nothing is worse than a Christmas light display not working because of a tripped GFCI. The connection shield is a flexible, rubber piece designed to create a barrier from from the water and elements. It fits snuggly between the male and female connection points. 

Recommended for use on commercial grade Christmas Lights, but can be used for outdoor landscaping, hydroponics, or anything where water might be involved.
